A waiting room where several actions take place that usually would provoke a sound, but don't, or better, you can only 'listen' to the sound when you are watching the traces of those actions. In that room also live some ghosts that make themselves known through sound.
Leaving this waiting room, small groups of audience enter into another space, a shower room. Here one can listen to sounds that are neither concrete nor abstract; they exist on a threshold. This threshold experience is a result of the origin of the sound in banal and daily things, like speech, the sound of a small river or the wind. Through several manipulations a dimension is created in which the sound is sometimes recognisable and familiar and at other times unrecognisable.

In terminal we view the body as a container through which signals or 'presences' can travel. They enter and leave the body. Signals are passing through the flesh. A presence charged with information. Only traces of these movements are perceptible. In this performance series we work with some of these traces, the effects of presences alien to the body.

But do (es) the other(s) exist apart from us? Or do we exist separated from the other(s)?

Everyday, after work, I used to go to the bar to have a drink. Always the same bar. Always the same table. For many years. In the beginning it was just for an hour. Then I started to stay longer, for dinner and one more drink for the road.
Then one day I decided not to leave anymore. I was going to eat, sleep right over there, on that table. I would only leave it to go to the bathroom and when I needed something, like a new shirt or a book, somebody would bring it to me.
I left my job and my family... - everything! That bar and that table became my home.
Until today.

By means of distributed sound-cards, the visitor is invited to explore for 20 minutes the open air terrace at the Chao do Lorreiro Market. Chosen from a range of ten different cards (of music, identity, idleness, motion, etc.), the card-perspective offers a specific 'map of perception' of the place, rather than a visual guide to appropriate or control space. Since it is up to the visitor to decide whether s/he follows the proposals or not, the rhythm of Cartographics will be completely determined by the public's experience.
