In order for artistic work to be fairly remunerated, it is protected by copyright and related rights. What is protected, who owns these rights, what are they for and how do they work (both from the perspective of those who own and those who use these rights) are the answers that this session aims to provide.
This workshop is accompanied by interpretation in Portuguese Sign Language.

Instructor
Mafalda Sebastião is the coordinator of Polo Cultural Gaivotas | Boavista, which is part of Loja Lisboa Cultura run by the Lisbon City Council, and a law lecturer on the Theatre Production Degree at Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema. She taught Production I in the Performing Arts Degree at Escola Superior de Tecnologias e Artes de Lisboa (ESTAL), was a producer at São Luiz Teatro Municipal, from 2007 to 2016, and a lawyer at EGEAC - Empresa de Gestão de Equipamentos e Animação Cultural, EM, between 2003 and 2006. Since 2002, she has worked as a lawyer in the fields of Labor Law and Cultural Law, including Intellectual Property.
PISTA is a training program jointly promoted by Alkantara and Polo Cultural Gaivotas | Boavista/Loja Lisboa Cultura. It targets cultural agents, including both professional organizations and individuals, seeking to enhance and refine their skills, exchange best practices, and engage in public discourse on contemporary cultural matters.
