Piny takes over the studio at Espaço Alkantara from February 12th to 18th. Her new project, Onyx, is an political-oneiric installation-performance-take over, co-created with performer André Cabral.‌

Onyx….

Onyx is an oneiric exercise of vacuum and presence, of the calm before chaos and chaos itself, that removes the borders between political and social intervention and the creation of a dream-like space, charged with silence, noise, non-linear information, weight, and a fluctuation of time by shared manipulation. There is calm and meteoric chaos, the sharing of personal archives and fantasies in which the skin is not a border but rather a vehicle. To the construction of the narrative we bring the voices of mothers, the street, the poetry of punchlines, of house, of techno, in limbos of mantras and drumming. The practice(s) of the(se) body(ies) is as enchanted as it is brutal. There is the ancestrality of a potent future. It’s poetic. And pleasurable. There is confrontation, I don’t know about comfort.
