The CELESTIAL BODIES Female Artists’ Meeting 2021 in Portugal
Encontro de Mulheres Artistas 2021
- 12.07 — 16.07 2021
- Artists in Residency
- Espaço Alkantara
The CELESTIAL BODIES Female Artists’ Meeting 2021 in Portugal will see the launch of the mobile performing arts platform Celestial Bodies.
This informal meeting - the first since the original Celestial Bodies Festival in Reykjavik in 2019 - aims to serve as a test tube for future meetings, and an opportunity to define methodologies and strategies, while also acting as a collaborative platform.
This year’s partners will be Centro de Experimentação Artística do Vale da Amoreira (PT) and Alkantara (PT). Both will be hosting the meetings, acting as a bridge between the team and the local communities.
Paula Diogo(PT) invited Lígia Soares(PT), and together they will assume the curatorship in this edition, gathering a diverse group of Portuguese participants who will meet over these ten days of shared creative practices, processes and conversations.
Celestial Bodies is a project that brings together artists from different nationalities and backgrounds, wielding cultural and artistic practices as powerful tools for fostering political consciousness and imagination by bringing them into the social sphere.
