Àkila aka Puta da Silva is a singer, director and actress. She is one of the leading figures in Portugal’s creative scene today. In 2020, Àkila received widespread acclaim on the release of her debut single, Bruxonas. Nominated for the MVF Awards Brasil 2020 in the category Best Lockdown Music Video, Bruxonas was shown at the 17th edition of Festival Coquetel Molotov – Mundo Imersivo 3D and the 14th edition of the For Rainbow 2020 Festival. In 2021, she released two further singles: Hétero Curioso, selected for the 6th edition of the Bogotá Music Video Festival, and Festinha 360, a virtual reality music video that premiered at Cinema São Jorge as part of Festival Política, with subsequent exhibitions held in various cultural sites around the city.

Since her debut, Silva has been a staple of Portugal music festivals such as Impulso, Iminente, Tremor, A Porta, Futurama and others. Her practice features unique, visually impactful performances and compositions that are both political and poetic, packaged in rock, funk, punk and other Afro-Brazilian rhythms.
