Mandí Kaibô

Mandí Kaibô

Mandí Kaibô (1991), from Brazil, was born in the sertão of Pernambuco and has lived for many years in the Amazon region of Pará. Today living between Portugal and Brazil. Of Indigenous and Afro-diasporic descent in a process of reclaiming, Mandí is a visual and transdisciplinary artist whose practice defends memory through orality, dreams and the mysteries of the crossroads.

In dialogue and sharing with community, translates their ancestry through the crafts of weaving, sculpture, painting, scenography, costume design and cultural production, shaped by an anti-colonial critique and a disobedience of gender norms. This approach is reflected in the durational performative and exhibition act Com-Fiar, presented in December 2025 as part of Roda que não tem fim at the Teatro do Bairro Alto.
