Common Stories will come to an end on December 31 2025 but, more than ever, the richness, power and uniqueness of the stories told by the artists involved are infusing the final months. Stories that deal with families - those that we trace, those that we choose or invent, those we escape from -, with exile, identities, violence, melodrama and lost revolutions, with tongues that get tangled up, paper planes that are taunting us, with poetry and tomorrows, always...
CommonLAB
CommonLAB 2025
After two residencies at Alkantara in May and Africologne in June, the artists will meet again from October 8 to 19 in Cairo, as part of the D-CAF festival organized by Orient Productions. They will discover the local art scene, visit Downtown Cairo and Fayoum, participate in practical and research workshops, including 2 days with Egyptian director Laila Soliman, and enjoy individual studio time.
CommonLAB 2025 will end up at the MC93 from October 20 to November 1. In dialogue with dramaturge Youness Anzane, the first week will be devoted to the final presentation on October 23. During the second week, the artists will take part in a workshop by Adeline Rosenstein and Prince Sadjo Barry and will meet with Jin Xuan Mao and Lucía García Pullés, two artists from CommonLAB 2024.
Still in October...
From October 22 to 25, 2025, the MC93, in collaboration with the Laboratoires d'Aubervilliers and the Théâtre L'Échangeur, is organizing a highlight featuring the artists of CommonLAB. Since 2023, 25 young artists based in Europe who live and explore otherness on a daily basis have been supported in the development of their projects during collective research residencies, and for some, produced or co-produced as part of CommonPROD. This focus is an opportunity to discover their stories at different stages of creation.
Alongside the presentation on October 23 at the MC93 of the 8 CommonLAB 2025 artists, 3 (co)produced projects will also be shown: Kabylifornie by Agathe Yamina Meziani for a world premiere, Mother Tongue by Lucía García Pullés and Carré Arrondi by Hang Hang, as well as a work in progress, Mon Odyssée by Jin Xuan Mao, and the PaperPlanes performance by Pankaj Tiwari.
