Estado de Graça

This investigation attempts to contextualise the different people that inhabit us, not only through what they carry, but by the narratives that we fictionalise when we are only able to observe a single frame.

Let’s imagine that we are holding film in our hands and that we can let them fall to the ground, randomly choosing only the ones that fall face up, to create a new story using many frames. This piece is about finding coexistences.

It is a chance to bring the street into the home, the street that is inside, the other that lies within us. It is an almost-documentary investigation that plays with reality and fiction. The expression Estado de Graça is used to describe a usually temporary state in which one receives someone’s kindness and is freed from recurring torments such as greed, hatred or envy.

In this context, Estado de Graça is an accumulation of frames that do not belong to this moment.
