Open Call: Precárias III

Precárias III: Festival de Performance (PIII:FP) has opened its Open Call for artistic residencies and presentations. This edition will host four performance artists, offering each a one-week artistic residency with technical and production support, culminating in a public performance at Espaço Alkantara or Rua das Gaivotas 6, in 2025.

In its third edition, Precárias are looking for artists who want to explore the theme CORPAS BRINCANTES by reflecting on childhood as a territory of invention and potential, expanding the imagination of what a free and plural childhood can be, rethinking the present and building more open, affective and playful futures.

Emerging and independent artists with practices that challenge norms and propose new ways of creating and experiencing art.

Presentation

Eligibility criteria

- Artists or collectives who identify themselves within the festival's target groups (trans, queer, non-binary people, women, non-white people and immigrants)
- Performance proposals that dialogue with issues of intersectionality, precariousness, resistance and social transformation
- Performances with low technical complexity
- Unpublished performances or re-adaptations
- Works that are off the radar of major institutions and need support and visibility for their development
- Availability to take part in the entire residency.

Precárias III: Festival de Performance (PIII:FP)

Precárias is a performance festival devised and conceived by Tita Maravilha. An intercultural and community creation project dedicated to empowering and instrumentalising dissident bodies and thoughts, with a focus on trans, queer, non-binary, feminist and non-white bodies-identities.

The festival promotes intersectionality, collective creation and the valorisation of marginal narratives, guaranteeing safe and accessible spaces for artistic experimentation and sharing. This year's theme, CORPAS BRINCANTES, invites reflection on childhood and its multiple possibilities — rethinking the future and promoting spaces for dialogue and exchange.
