Precárias III: Performance Festival
Corpas Brincantes

- 24.07 — 26.07 2025
- Free but ticketed
Precárias III: Festival of Performance is an intercultural and community project created by Tita Maravilha in 2022. It provides a platform for marginalised groups, including trans people, queer people, non-binary people, women, and people of colour, by offering alternative narratives and contemporary performances.
Now in its third year, Precárias continues to offer an emotional curatorship that considers the needs of those who create from the margins. With the theme CORPAS BRINCANTES ("playful bodies"), the festival invites us to reinvent childhood as a realm of freedom and imagination. Following an open call at the beginning of the year in collaboration with Alkantara and Rua das Gaivotas 6, the festival selected four artists to showcase their work. Activities at Rua das Gaivotas 6 will take place on 25 and 26 July, while those at Espaço Alkantara will take place on 24, 25 and 26 July.

Playing is urgent. Do well or do badly, I don't care. A political device for opening and closing doors, boundaries and universes. Here, a mobile door, a body in transition, multiple times and spaces. A door to other doors, entering, leaving, going somewhere, getting lost or finding yourself. It's better to open it to air it out.
Admission to the performances on the 25th and 26th is free, but tickets must be collected in advance from either Gaivotas 6 or Espaço Alkantara. A total of 70 seats are available for each session.
Deprogramming Space
An Invitation to the Playground: Jardim Das Descoisas
24 JUL – 6pm - 10pm
25 JUL – 2pm - 6pm
26 JUL – 2pm - 6pm
On the first three days of the festival, a deprogramming space will be set up in Espaço Alkantara for children of all ages to play. A playground/installation will be set up for socialising on these summer afternoons. A playful space, showing that life imitates art. A playground set up by Precárias in partnership with the artist Cigarra.
About Jardim das Descoisas
Creative activities for our youngsters to flit around and butterfly our mornings! Jardim das Descoisas is a project by Ágatha Cigarra, born in 2013, based on playful actions involving children aged zero to 89, which stir up our creative imagination and deposturise adulthood. This afternoon, in partnership with the Precárias Festival de Performance, they join forces in caraminholas to produce an interventional space of playful proposals and activities for children and adults, always with a focus on ‘do-it-yourself’, the resignification of technology and popular imagination.
Access to the Jardim das Descoisas is free, no appointment necessary. Everyone is invited to move around freely during the time periods mentioned.
The travelling programme of the festival continues in September with a workshop at Espaço do Tempo in Montemor-o-Novo on the 6. The full programme will soon be available on their website.
This edition will come to a close on the 14 at Espaço Alkantara, with a special closing programme that you can find out more about on our website.
