It's a wrap for the first cycle of matéria leve

The matéria leve (light matter) stage lighting training project will conclude its journey of 2024 next Friday, 6 December. The group will gather at Espaço Alkantara to share the practices and conversations they have been developing, as well as to discuss the challenges, questions, and future prospects of the project. The event is scheduled for 7:00 PM. No ticket required.

Though this Open Studio moment represents an ending, it will also mark the launch of matéria leve's database — a first step towards creating a network of stage lighting professionals, exclusively for cis women, trans people, and non-binary individuals.

In 2024, matéria leve was formed by Ana Luísa Novais Gomes, Bee Barros, Gabriela Claveria, Josefa Pereira, June João Abreu, Naiana Padial, Priscila Altivo, and Ska Batista. The project was coordinated by Leticia Skrycky, with support from Carolina Campos.

The project is supported by Alkantara - Associação Cultural, DGArtes - Direção Geral das Artes, RE.AL, and Graner - Centre de creació de dansa i arts vives (ES).
