Open Call: matéria leve 2025

Alkantara Festival once again welcomes the group matéria leve, opening an open call with 8 spots for a training and research group in stage lighting.

This group will attend a series of performances presented at the Alkantara Festival, analyzing the specific situations of each work. Based on the principle that stage works are, first and foremost, situations of attention, the group examines the relational architecture that frames them, enabling unique ways of seeing and listening. It approaches the dimension of where a performance happens as a territory that invites us to enter.

matéria leve is a research and training platform in stage lighting, coordinated by Leticia Skrycky with the guidance of Carolina Campos. The project is aimed at cisgender women, non-binary, and transgender people, and is free of charge.

The call is open until October 31, and the results will be announced on November 11.

Who is it for?
Cisgender women, non-binary, and transgender people interested in the artistic practice of lighting and scenic design, with or without prior experience.

How to Apply
Applications should be submitted via the form by October 31, written in Portuguese or English. Please include a brief motivation statement and your CV.
Results will be communicated by email on November 11.
