In the fourth installment of the Seven Years Seven Pieces project, Cláudia Dias and Idoia Zabaleta find new uses for worn words. Starting over from scratch, they come to an agreement with everyone in the room about the minimum meaning of each word. Peace, bread, work, education — what does it all mean, exactly? By demonstrating the real relationship between things and words and seeking out the hidden names of injustice, inequality and oppression, they look for the magic word that will move bodies, and worlds.
In the Seven Years Seven Pieces project (2016-), choreographer Cláudia Dias creates a new work each year with a guest artist (Pablo Fidalgo Lareo, Luca Bellezze, Igor Gandra and Idoia Zabaleta). Each piece serves as the basis for a book, illustrated and designed by António Jorge Gonçalves (Seven Years Seven Books), and a creative project with young people in Almada and Porto (Seven Years Seven Schools).
