IMERSÃO 2024
Performing Arts Laboratory
- 15.04 — 26.04 2024
- Artists in Residency
- Espaço Alkantara
From 15 to 26 April, the performing arts laboratory IMERSÃO, organised by Queer Art Lab, takes over the studio at Espaço Alkantara. The final works will be presented at the IMERSÃO Festival later this year.
Each of the four participant artists — Izabel Nejur, Suh Pat, Dai ida and Luan Okun — are developing new works over a period of 6 weeks, with support from choreographer Gaya de Medeiros.
The laboratory spans 5 weeks in Lisbon at Victor Córdon, Olga Roriz, Parasita and Alkantara, and in the final week, it moves to Espaço do Tempo in Montemor-o-Novo. At this location, each artist will receive mentoring from Tiago Cadete in the areas of lighting and scenography, focusing on constructing a technical rider. Additionally, there is planned a clarification session for each project in the production design, with a context of applying for public funding and a session focused on accessibility.
At Espaço do Tempo the artists will share their work with the audience, culminating in the presentation of the created pieces at the IMERSÃO 24 Festival.
