Luan Okun

Luan Okun

Luan Okun, born on 27 June 1995 in Ituiutaba-MG, is a dissident migrant artist based in Lisbon since 2018. His artistic career began in 2014, studying theatre at the Federal University of Uberlândia. His practice explores the subjectivities of the racialised body and the complexities of dissident identity.

Luan has participated in significant projects, standing out as an actor and assistant director in the show Benedites, as well as producing and teaching workshops at the O Olho da Rua Cultural Movement in 2018. His work encompasses acting, costume and set design, collaborating with artists such as Puta da Silva, Jota Mombaça and Tita Maravilha.

She created the performance O Jeito que o Corpo Dá, shown at festivals such as Ano Zero and at the Galeria Nacional do Porto. She performed in Cosmos by Auroras Negras and As Três Irmãs by Tita Maravilha, and presented "Corpo Lento" at the São Luís Theatre and at the ASPHALT festival in Sweden.
