MeioFio is a research collective that uses the party as a language and a field of investigation. Certain threads run through every edition: the crossroads as a methodology; diasporic corporeality; technomagic; and the dramaturgy of the night.

We are Agatha Cigarra, Era Rolim, Renato Rocha, Alex Simões (aka Xana Modas), and Bixa Pretta. Working in an integrated, compositional way, we have curated and produced the opening party for the Alkantara Festival since 2021. Each year we weave together different themes and extend invitations—bringing together artists, workers, and audiences for a night of discovery.
