Sofia Dias & Vítor Roriz are an artist/choreographer duo collaborating since 2006. The hybrid nature of their research, combined with their curiosity and drive for experimentation, has led to the creation of numerous works, including shows, performances, soundtracks, videos, podcasts, and installations. Their work traverses different contexts, blurring the boundaries between artistic disciplines. Their stage performances, predominantly performed by the duo, feature a refined choreographic language intertwined with spoken word and voice. These works have been presented in over 17 countries. In 2011, they were awarded the Prix Jardin d'Europe and Aerowaves Spring Forward for their piece Um gesto que não passa de uma ameaça. They have collaborated with various artists, including Catarina Dias, Marco Martins, Clara Andermatt, Mark Tompkins, Felipe Hirsch, Boris Charmatz, and most frequently Tiago Rodrigues. They occasionally teach and have organized residencies and research groups for artists in diverse contexts. Sofia and Vítor were invited to curate PACAP 2 (2018/2019) and PACAP 6 (2023), the Advanced Program for Creation in Performing Arts. Between 2023 and 2024, they are Resident Artists at the Champalimaud Foundation.
