Brief Notes on Digestion draws on a collection of short stories that are far too strange to be untrue. In a light-hearted manner, the performance invites the audience to experience an ambiguous array of feelings, turning our gaze towards our existence in the present as a possible response to misadventures in our past.

Brief Notes posits that poetry may emerge in unexpected, hostile, even scatological contexts, bringing subtle emotions to the surface, albeit with a little courage. And through all this, we hear the echo of Hilton Lacerda’s words in the film A Febre do Rato: “You may silence official mouths but you can never silence poetry. And my mouth is pure poetry: rude, but poetry, poisoned, but poetry. Belching, but even so, poetry.”
