Each event in the programme booklet includes icons and notes that provide important information about access at the festival. If you have any specific concerns or require additional information, please contact us via email acesso@alkantara.pt.

Language
Many of the festival performances do not include spoken language. This is indicated on each show page by a speech bubble icon with a line through it.
In cases where a language is spoken on stage, this is indicated by a two-letter code next to a speech bubble icon.
Surtitles and Captions
Several performances offer surtitles, with a screen on stage showing text in both English and Portuguese, regardless of what language is being spoken on stage.
Where possible, surtitles are replaced by captions that express all spoken text and descriptions of background sounds that inform the action onstage.
Sensory Notes
Individual show pages contain icons or text indicating the use of strobe lights, smoke, strong smells, or loud noise.
