Light, Interval, Shadow | a lecture by Josefa Pereira
My study strategy involves a type of creation I call a "Frankenstein". Nothing new. When I am not yet able to formulate where to go with something, because an idea or a path of thought and creation is still being felt out and scented, I sew together another body-texture from fragments that call to me. It is a practice and a handling used to stitch understandings with what already exists—an attempt to form this unknown body from known and collected fragments.
Light, Interval, Shadow could be a Frankenstein conceived in terms of visibility or invisibility, but also of rhythm, time, and more. By revolving around the idea of ON/OFF, I will share a collection that brings together a series of recent and long-standing affections, merging imaginations, narratives, events, or phenomena around light and the multiple choreographies we invent with it.
