Diego Bragà

Diego Bragà / DIDIRELLA (Belo Horizonte, BR) is a transfeminine artist who moves between queer operas, visceral films, and the invention of beautiful collective futures still to come. A fan of Lygia Clark, Marta Neves, Yoko Ono and Paula Rego. She moved to London at the invitation of Thomas Prattki and graduated from the London International School of Performing Arts. She was fortunate to learn from inspiring teachers, including: Acely Hovelacque, Thomas Prattki, Amy Russell, Denise Pedron, Fernando Limoeiro, Marina Abramović, Meg Stuart, Thomas Ostermeier, Céline Sciamma, Lucrecia Martel, and Susana de Sousa Dias.

In 2024, she took part in the Common Lab, where she made lifelong friends. She was an actress in the Écoles des Maîtres, directed by Tiago Rodrigues, and joined the PACAP / Fórum Dança programme, curated by Vânia Rovisco. She has collaborated with Grupo Galpão (BR) and Colectivo 84 (PT).

In 2023, she released the controversial and cancellable lol-musical manifesto SUPERPUTA SPIRITUAL — a 100% trans-made work. Her film THINK ABOUT THE BEAUTIFUL FUTURE AHEAD, conceived in the solitude of her bedroom, is part of The New York Times permanent collection and also earned her a Sundance Institute Fellowship.

In Brazil, while still very young, she co-founded — alongside Martîm — the queer platform MADAME TEATRO, and was awarded prizes such as CenaEspetáculo and CenaMúsica, granted by the city of Belo Horizonte. She also received the Culture Prize from Brazil’s Ministry of Culture, in recognition of contemporary young art production, as well as the Cena Minas Prize from the Government of Minas Gerais. She was named Breakthrough Artist by Encontro magazine in the same year that President Dilma Rousseff was chosen as Politician of the Year. Chic!

In 2025, her magical opera WE AT THE NIGHTCLUB SUFFER TOGETHER will premiere, produced by ALKANTARA and O Espaço do Tempo. That same year she’ll appear in Playboy and release her debut music album, produced by Chico Neves / Estudio304. Her aesthetic language weaves together ancestral archive, homemade carnival (like those from her home!), melodrama, and travesty happiness.
