Arte Contém Piranha – with Andrei Bessa and Shereya
Performance
ARTE CONTÉM PIRANHA is a performance by Andrei Bessa and Shereya – Act I (Bear.ing) and II (Gambiarra Dreams) – bringing together a school of big fish that crossed the ocean to flow into Lusophone lands, carrying plenty of irreverence, nudity and art in their luggage.
Bear.ing
Between the bear and the unicorn, desire and the archive, a creature takes shape. Cabaret, ritual and a beast unleashed. A fat, hairy body, impossible to hide, insists on taking up space. Not fitting in means inventing something new. bear me, bear with me.
Gambiarra Dreams is an autobiographical solo by Shereya that explores memory and its processes of dissociation. In this movement, she inhabits a space between play, games and sexiness, finding sensuality in the smallest things. A kind of eclipse occurs when play and sensuality overlap, forming a single field. She is also interested in the moment when they drift apart, revealing what exists in between.

HOUSE MUSIC IS BLACK MUSIC Special – Chima Isaaro & DJ Caring
DJ set
Chima Isaaro and DJ Caring come together for a journey through the sounds born from the Black and LGBTQIA+ communities of Chicago and New York, sounds that transformed dance music forever. A set celebrating the freedom and collective power of the dancefloor, with some very special guests joining the party.
Andrei Bessa is a bixa (a queer identity), a bear, performer and dramaturg. Working across dance, theatre, writing and image, their practice is shaped by an ongoing dramaturgical process. Insistence is their method of creation. They claim their fat body as a territory for aesthetic invention and political friction, developing the bear-unicorn figure as a personal mythology of survival.
Shereya was born in Fortaleza, Brazil, in 1985. She seeks to reposition languages through vulnerability, confusion, dreams and care. She holds degrees in Theatre and Dance. Since 2005, she has worked as an educator for children and adolescents and has taught theatre studies at university level. In 2022, she completed the EXERCE Master’s in Dance at ICI–CCN in Montpellier, with the projects NUAGES CLOUDS NUVENS and À part vous, il y a quoi à manger aujourd’hui ? In 2023, she was an artist supported by La Briqueterie. She is currently developing projects and performing in Apocalypso, by Luara Raio; Feijoada and Bruits Marrons, by Calixto Neto; Prophétique (on est déjà né.es), by Nadia Beugré; Chamanik, by mother Lasseindra Lanvin; Arrebentação and Baby Teeth, by Catol Teixeira; as well as the Mujeres sin Fronteiras project with Acceptess-T and the Stripteaser Gambiarra Dreams workshops at Flirt – front transfem.
Lisbon-based DJ Chima Isaaro is known for her uplifting, emotionally resonant sets, weaving together house, techno, soul, batida, jazz and beyond, with a focus on the Black roots of electronic music.
DJ Caring embodies part of Lisbon’s cultural irreverence. There’s no need to list recent achievements or accolades – what matters is that she’s a DJ guided by a deep understanding of the importance of music, knowing where it comes from, where it stands and where it’s heading. On her dancefloor, DJ Caring invites you to dance, sing along, close your eyes and surrender to the sweetest melodies of some seriously good house music.
