Text Table: A collective reading device on light, image, and imagination | in collaboration with Coreia

A collective reading practice that brings into play text fragments related to the universe of light and image, designed to be read in the form of a game. It is a way of engaging with the written word, where the participating audience can define the paths of thought and conversation.

In this collective game, several ‘tool-words’ are at our disposal: ‘zoom in’ to linger on a text, ‘zoom out’ to move forward, and ‘blackout’ to conclude—thus composing a reading-conversation around the images, reflections, and concepts proposed by the texts.

The available fragments include: texts from Coreia related to the practice of lighting; writings on matéria leve's works; selected pieces from the ‘Reading Light’ writing workshop with Márcia Lança; fragments from the Reflecting Light fanzines; and texts by Andrea Soto Calderón and Victoria Pérez Royo, both participants in the cycle.

A publication table will be available throughout the cycle. There will be texts to purchase and others to take away for free—all of them fascinating works!

Coreia is an experimental, critical, and discursive publication founded in 2019. It focuses on the arts in general, maintained through an umbilical relationship with dance. Published biannually, the journal aims to be an independent and internationalist forum centred on the discourse produced by works and artists. It is dedicated to disseminating various formats such as scores, manifestos, interviews, chronicles, essays, reviews, and reflections in the Portuguese language.

Coreia is printed on paper and distributed free of charge in Portugal and the CPLP (Community of Portuguese Language Countries) in collaboration with Camões — Instituto da Cooperação e da Língua. With every new issue, the previous edition is made available online.
