Sofia Dias & Vítor Roriz
what opens in us

Between what happens and what has yet to be named, a new duet.
Seven years after the piece What does not happen, Sofia Dias & Vítor Roriz return to the duet — the format that best reflects the artistic closeness and intensity of this almost twenty-year collaboration.
Their duets take the form of intimate exchanges with the audience — of states of presence and ways of relating, (re)visions of the world, of what it is to live, destroy and build again with the other.
The choreographic, sonic and textual materials in this duet emerged from research around the tension between day-to-day banality and the intensity of the stage. Amid songs from previous works and personal archives, the piece lands somewhere between a bizarre musical, a conversation, and a dance that resists categorisation.
Sofia and Vítor look back at what they have made, reinvent the past and test new ways of being together. Drawing on their shared history, they use their need to be on stage to rethink what it means to continue. And to continue together.
